About ACT
Albany Children’s Trust was established in 2012 by Keith Courtney, Lyn O’reilley and Elaine Bain. The purpose of the trust was to assist local schools with the personal development of those pupils whom the school considered may benefit from the different experiences being offered by ACT.
Since 2012 ACT have organised three groups of children each group spending time on in house projects and enjoying external trips, both educational and recreational. The recent completion of a permanent and exclusive building for ACT will allow the ongoing operation of the trust.
The objective of ACT is to identify the interests and skills of the children and to help them to achieve there ambitions. There may be an ultimate goal of further education or employment, a sporting or artistic vocation, whatever the circumstances ACT will endeavour to provide the most positive of starts to adult life.
ACT are very appreciative of the assistance given to our efforts. Geoff Wood our artist, Nigel Stott our Baker. The Jimmy Cricket our entertainer and Gary McAllister for his football clinic. For all the help provided by Ian and Rochdale rugby club and to the Jones family and Stockley Farm. Many thanks to our regular Staff and helpers, Sue, Jacqui, Danny, Becky and to all those at Kingsway Park High School. Without these people visits to Eureka, Manchester Cathedral, Hollingworth Lake, Jodrell Bank, Manchester Airport, Oldham Theatre, Heally Dell, the John Rylands Library, Rochdale town hall and many others would not have been possible.
Special Thanks to our friends at the Asia Restaurant, Archbold Logistics and the crew at little borough Fire Station.
