At the end of the school term we decided to take the learners on a trip to Heaton Park where we would arrange various activities and a picnic. It was a fantastic opportunity for the learners to enjoy the summer sunshine and engage with one another. We travelled from school to Sainsbury’s where the learners had breakfast and a warm drink. The week leading into the trip we had discussed budgets, balanced diets and working as a team. The learners got into small groups where they would need to purchase various items for the picnic, but they had to meet a strict budget and had to be part of a balanced diet. The exercise proved a massive success and all groups met their targets. These life skills will prove valuable for our learners in the future and this trip topped off a memorable school year.
