This year we have taken the decision to extend our work in the community by incorporating a Year 11 group from Kingsway Park High School. The learners, who have been identified by the school, have struggled in traditional classroom environments and need additional support to achieve a positive progression. Once we had assessed the learner’s needs we were delighted to add Glenn Rees to our team. Glenn brings a wealth of experience and expertise in dealing with young people. He successfully runs his own business, Grip Adventures, which delivers alternate provision. The group have taken part in a host of outdoor and team building activities during the past school term, many of which are designed to take them out of their comfort zones, encourage positive communication and develop their inter-personal skills. This new project aims to aid the learners to gain various qualifications including First Aid and Work Skills in order to prepare them for college, apprenticeships or employment.
